I first heard the name Ashlie Luckett while attending a showcase at the Tammany Hall in New York City, hosted by DJ Kay Slay last month. As Ashlie took to the stage to perform her first song I thought wow; pretty girl, cute outfit, but can she sing? The answer to my question? YES! Ashlie’s vocal range is impressive and she has great stage presence, inviting her audience to dance and sing along with her as she belts out her tunes. I did some research on Ashlie and found out that in 2005 she opened up for R&B Legends The Temptations in Richmond Virginia and has also been featured on BET’s 106 & Park Live, performing her hit “Suffocation”. On behalf of AAMP, I have the pleasure of featuring Ashlie on this blog and we would like for you all to listen to her latest song, her version of “1 + 1” by Beyonce.
